Julia Bauman

Julia Bauman is a PhD candidate at Stanford University, focusing on genetics, and has been part of the Steinmetz Lab since September 2021, where Julia has received the Stanford Graduate Fellowship and NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Prior experience includes a position as Research Associate III at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where Julia developed and applied methods for analyzing pooled genetic perturbations, along with roles at the Neal Lab in the Cancer Program. Julia's research background also encompasses work as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Washington, investigating Alzheimer's disease and its genetic differences, as well as internships at Illumina, the University of Freiburg, and the NIH, where Julia studied various aspects of neurobiology and genetic diseases. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Washington (2014-2018) and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Genetics at Stanford University (2021-2026).
