Patrick Hayden

Patrick Hayden is a Professor of Physics and a Professor of Computer Science (by courtesy) at Stanford University, a position held since September 2013. Previously, Patrick served as a Distinguished Research Chair at the Perimeter Institute from 2010 to 2022 and as an Associate Professor at McGill University from September 2004 to August 2013, where a Canada Research Chair in the Physics of Information was held. Early career positions included Sherman Fairchild Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2004 and a software developer at QNX Software Systems from 1989 to 1997. Educational credentials include a D.Phil. in Physics from the University of Oxford (1998-2001), awarded as a Rhodes Scholar, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics from McGill University (1994-1998).
