Peter Williamson

Peter Williamson is an accomplished academic with significant experience in teacher education. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Stanford University since January 2015, Peter is also the Faculty Director for the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) focused on Secondary Teachers and acts as the Faculty Advisor for the San Francisco Teacher Residency program. Prior to this role, Peter held the position of Associate Professor at the University of San Francisco from 2008 to 2014 and served as Executive Director for Teachers for a New Era at Stanford University from 2005 to 2008. Peter began a career in education as a Teacher and Department Chair at San Lorenzo High School from 1996 to 2000. Academically, Peter holds both an MA and PhD in Curriculum and Teacher Education from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Journalism from Earlham College.
