Sean Brandt

Associate Director, Application Development at Stanford University

Sean serves as the associate director of application services, leading a team that delivers and supports software applications for the School of Humanities and Sciences.

Sean is responsible for directing the activities of software developers and for coordinating database, quality assurance, and business systems analysts. In addition to supporting his team's activities, Sean helps make strategic decisions with respect to the direction of application, reporting, and business intelligence systems within the school. Prior to coming to Stanford, Sean managed the IT department of Lonely Planet Publications, the Americas office.

Early in his career, as a cartographer at Lonely Planet, he created maps for destinations throughout North and South America. Unfortunately, this was from the safety of an office cubicle in Oakland, California. Outside of work, Sean is an avid cyclist and can be found most weekends racing throughout farmlands and office parks of Northern California in the Cat 3 classification.
