Lawrence Thomas, P.E., BCEE has a diverse and extensive work experience in the engineering and water/wastewater industry. Lawrence started their career at Sodemann and Associates as a Staff Engineer from 1975 to 1976. Lawrence then joined Baxter & Woodman, where they served as Vice President/COO for 35 years, from 1977 to 2012, and was responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and managing water and wastewater planning and design projects. Since 2012, Lawrence has been working at Stanley Consultants, first as the Water/Wastewater Department Manager, overseeing projects in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana, and then transitioning to the role of Principal Engineer. In addition, Lawrence has been an active member and volunteer for the American Water Works Association (AWWA) since 1982, holding various leadership positions such as Chair of the Standards Water Well Committee A-100 and AWWA Butterfly Valve Committee. Lawrence has also represented Illinois as a past AWWA National Director and served as Chair of the Illinois Section and AWWA Standards Council. Overall, Lawrence brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of water/wastewater engineering.

Lawrence Thomas, P.E., BCEE earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Lawrence obtained various professional engineer certifications, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Arizona. Additionally, they hold a Board Certified Environmental Engineer certification from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.
