Stuart Lerner

Stu is Stantec’s chief operating officer – North America. He has more than 30 years of experience in transportation infrastructure and transit-oriented development, as well as experience in the heavy civil construction industry. Stu actively promotes solutions that embrace sustainability, such as building for the future of connected and autonomous vehicles and other game-changing innovations.

Since joining Stantec in 2007, Stu has progressed through several leadership roles, including serving as the Transportation business line leader, and most recently, as executive vice president of Stantec’s Infrastructure business.

Stu holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University and a master of science degree in civil engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He is LEED certified and an Envision sustainability professional. Stu has served multiple professional organizations and is a member of the Structural Engineering Certification Board and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority committee.
