Karl Rickards

Karl Rickards has extensive experience in the energy industry, with a focus on analytics and engineering. Karl currently holds the position of Principal Analytics Engineer at Stanwell Corporation Limited since September 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Performance Analytics Specialist at the same company from December 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining Stanwell Corporation, Karl served as a Data Analytics Specialist at CS Energy from October 2019 to December 2020. Karl also worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at GTSgroup from September 2018 to October 2019.

Karl's earlier experience includes a role as a Support Services Manager at Optimate Pty Ltd from October 2015 to September 2018. Karl then moved on to Origin Energy, where they held positions as a Senior Operations Engineer from June 2011 to October 2015 and as a Production Leader at Darling Downs Power Station CCGT from December 2008 to June 2011.

Karl also served as a Sulphuric Acid Plant and Power Station Operator at Energy Resources Of Australia from September 2001 to September 2003, and as a Sulphuric Acid Plant Technician at WMC Resources from March 2000 to September 2001.

At the start of their career, Karl held the role of Mills/Turbine Operator at Bundaberg Sugar from January 1998 to December 1999. Overall, Karl has a diverse background in various engineering and analytics roles within the energy industry.

Karl Rickards started their education history by attending Forsythes Training in 2015, where they obtained a Certificate 4 in Leadership and Management with a focus on Business Administration and Management. The following year, in 2014, they attended the Management Institute of Australia and received a Certificate 3 in Automotive Technology. Prior to this, from 1994 to 1997, they studied at Johnstone College of TAFE and earned a Certificate 3 in Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Karl Rickards has obtained several certifications. In 2021, they acquired a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the International Performance Alliance Group. In 2018, they obtained a certification as a PI System Installation Specialist from OSIsoft. Furthermore, in 1999, they completed an Advanced Boiler Operation certification granted by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General QLD. Prior to this, in 1998, they obtained a Turbine Operation certification from the same institution. Lastly, Karl Rickards has a certification as a PI System Infrastructure Specialist from OSIsoft, although the month and year of acquisition information are not available.
