Tony Lawrence

Tony Lawrence has a diverse work experience, spanning over two decades. Tony has held various roles in technology and IT management in different industries.

In 2000, Tony started their career as a desktop support specialist at Commtouch. Tony then moved on to work as an IT consultant at Celerity Consulting Group in 2001. At Triplex, they served as an IT Manager from 2001 to 2003.

From 2003 to 2005, Tony worked as the Manager of Technical Solutions at WideOrbit, where they managed infrastructure and played a vital role in generating revenue through hardware reseller relationships.

In 2005, Tony joined The Olympic Club as the Director of IT and Communications. Tony oversaw the Information Technology, Communications, and History and Archive Departments. During their tenure, they successfully recruited and hired new staff, and led the development and implementation of a new website. From 2014 to 2016, they served as the Director of Information Technology, managing IT operations for the organization.

In 2016, Tony joined VMware as a Senior Technical Account Manager, a role they held until 2018.

From 2018 to 2020, Tony worked as the Vice President of IT at Specialty's Cafe & Bakery. Tony oversaw operations, support, project management, data and analytics, and engineering teams. Tony achieved notable accomplishments, such as implementing multiple enterprise applications and renegotiating license agreements, resulting in significant cost savings.

In 2021, Tony joined Tides as the Director of Information Technology. Tony'sresponsibilities included overseeing infrastructure, support, enterprise applications, security, and project management functions for a nonprofit Managed Service Provider. Tony also established a formal cybersecurity and GRC function, and created a multi-year roadmap for Salesforce and NetSuite instances.

In 2022, Tony joined Wareham Development as the Director of IT, where they held responsibility for IT operations.

Most recently, in 2023, Tony started working at Starbird as the Director of Technology. Details about their role and accomplishments in this position are not yet available.

Tony Lawrence obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management of Information Systems from the University of Central Florida from 1997 to 2000. Tony then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Systems from the University of San Francisco from 2002 to 2004.

In 2010, Tony completed the CIO Executive Development Program at San Francisco State University, specializing in Management Information Systems, General. Later, in 2017, they obtained a certificate in Internet of Things: Business Implications and Opportunities from the MIT Sloan School of Management, focusing on Management and Leadership.

In addition to their formal education, Tony has acquired several certifications. In December 2017, they became a VMware Certified Associate – Digital Business Transformation through VMware. Tony also completed the Internet of Things: Business Implications and Opportunities certification from MIT Sloan Executive Education in October 2017. Tony earned the VMware Certified Associate 6 – Data Center Virtualization certification in January 2017, and prior to that, in 2006, they achieved the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional certification from HFTP. Lastly, Tony's certification in VMware Certified Associate 6 - Cloud Management and Automation (VCA6-CMA) does not have any specific date provided.
