Russell Barton is an experienced data governance and information management professional with a strong background in implementing data governance frameworks and ethical data practices. Currently serving as EMEA Data Governance Manager at Starbucks since February 2022, Russell has designed a comprehensive Data Governance Framework and promoted Data Literacy within the organization. Previous experience includes holding significant roles at Barclays, such as Head of Information Management & Policy, where Russell developed an award-winning Data Ethics Tool, and Programme Manager, overseeing various data-related initiatives. Additionally, Russell has worked as a Charity Quiz Master and served as a Trustee for Attitude Is Everything, contributing to improving access for Deaf and disabled individuals in the music industry. Russell holds a BSc (Hons) in Financial Services from The University of Manchester and an IDM Award in Data Management from The Institute of Direct Marketing.
