Alan Cooper

Alan Cooper has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Alan'smost recent role is as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Stardust, a position they have held since August 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Nonresident Fellow at The Stimson Center, where they supported data collection, analysis, and visualization for the Loomis Innovation Council.

In 2018, Alan was the Co-Founder of Praktikos, Inc., a company that develops automated source and test code generation tools. Alan also automated the management of engineering and public cloud hosted on Amazon AWS for Praktikos. Before that, they worked as a self-employed Information Technology Consultant, specializing in full-stack development and Jupyter Ipython notebooks for machine learning clients.

Alan's earlier experience includes working as an Architect at Predicta, where they utilized advanced AI techniques to analyze and interpret online consumer conversations for generating actionable insights. Alan was also a Co-Founder of AsthmaBrain Corporation, where they employed deep learning and neural network technology for personalized healthcare solutions.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Alan held leadership positions at Dell Inc., Scalent Systems, Inc., Openwave, and IBM/Rational/Pure Software. At Dell, they served as the Director of Software Engineering in the Enterprise Solutions Group, contributing to the development of software-defined data center solutions. At Scalent Systems, Inc., they were the VP of Engineering Operations, overseeing infrastructure virtualization software for data centers. At Openwave, they held multiple roles, including VP of Product Technology Group and VP of Product Development and Customer Advocacy for Japan. Alan played a key role in launching the Wireless Access Protocol Forum and was responsible for mobile client, server, and messaging production for the Japan market. Lastly, at IBM/Rational/Pure Software, Alan worked as an Engineering Project Leader, developing tools for C/C++ and Java developers.
