About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to join ever-growing Product and Engineering team. In this role, you will focus on developing new backend features, including API development, that power our telemedicine platforms. As a mid-level developer, you’ll be responsible for executing backend development tasks, including debugging and unit testing. You’ll work independently, taking ownership of projects and delivering solutions with minimal supervision, while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.

You will work closely with the Lead Developer (your direct manager), Product Manager, and occasionally with the Customer Care team to address incoming tickets and resolve technical issues. This role offers a great opportunity to impact the growth of our platforms and help shape the future of digital healthcare.

Your Impact Zone

• Design, develop, and maintain backend functions, with a primary focus on API development.

• Work as part of the Product and Engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable backend solutions.

• Work with the Customer Care team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by users.

• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and security.

• Contribute to the planning and execution of product features, ensuring alignment with overall product goals.

• Communicate progress, challenges, and ideas clearly with the Lead Developer, Product Manager, and other key stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 1+ year of hands-on experience working with APIs.

• Proficiency in: Python, GCP, Node.js., Next.js

• Experience with: API development, cloud-based architectures

• Strong experience in working with and managing databases.

• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance.

• Comfortable working in a remote environment with distributed teams.

• Ability to perform independent research and a strong capacity for self-learning to acquire new skills autonomously.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with additional cloud platforms or DevOps practices.

• Shopify (integrations preferred) or other e-commerce systems

• Familiarity with telehealth, health tech, or similar industries.

• Strong understanding of security best practices in API development.
