Hans-Peter F. began their career in 2003 as a Diploma student at the Institute of Neuroinformatics University/ETH Zurich. In 2004, they became a PhD Student at the University of Osnabrueck. From 2007 to 2010, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the City College of New York, where they implemented different types of time-frequency transformations on spatio-temporal electrophysiology data, taught applied statistics/data analysis courses for graduate students, implemented a system identification framework for analyzing electrophysiological data, supervised graduate students and interns, presented at conferences and public outreach lectures, and co-organized a large research conference in NY. From 2010 to 2014, they were a Data Scientist/Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University Medical Center, where they coordinated Big Data analytics and development of algorithms for the Neurological Intensive Care Unit, performed data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics on structured and unstructured electronic health data, created powerful quantitative models for prediction of outcomes as well as medical complications after severe brain injury, invented automatic data cleaning tools for use with time-series data, and streamlined data input and output operations for SQL databases. Since 2017, they have been a Data Scientist at Starmind, where they work on the smartest, fastest and most intuitive way to connect employees to the expert knowledge they need.

Hans-Peter F. earned a Master in Psychology and Information Engineering from the University of Konstanz in 2004. Hans-Peter then went on to complete their PhD in Cognitive Science from Universität Osnabrück in 2007.
