Art Wells is a Compliance Investigator at the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, where they mediate and investigate student complaints to protect citizens from fraudulent educational institutions. Prior to this, they worked as an Agent Investigator at the Department of Criminal Justice Services, as a Security Officer at Spotsylvania County Schools, a Substitute Teacher at Stafford County Schools, and as a Supervisory Special Agent at the FBI for over 23 years. They hold a B.S. in Business Administration-Management from Alabama State University.

The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s coordinating agency for higher education.
