Derek Walton

Derek Walton is a Forensic Chemistry Supervisor at the State of Alaska since August 2022, overseeing the Alaska Breath and Blood Alcohol Testing Program and serving as the Seized Drugs Technical Lead. Prior to this role, Derek worked for the State of Alaska's Department of Public Safety from October 2014 to August 2022 as a Forensic Scientist at the Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory. Derek has a solid background in quality control from positions at Hospira and Kelly Scientific Resources, where expertise in analytical techniques and regulatory compliance was demonstrated. Derek holds a BA in Chemistry from Kalamazoo College and has experience in various roles ranging from private events coordination to mentoring in mathematics, showcasing a diverse skill set and commitment to professional excellence.
