Javon Powell

Javon Powell currently serves as a Hearing Officer for the State of Florida since November 2023. Prior to this role, Javon was the Lead Instructor at Florida Career College from August 2019 to October 2023. Javon has extensive experience with the Florida Department of Revenue, holding various positions including Revenue Administrator II from September 2008 to September 2022, where responsibilities included ensuring accurate information and courteous service for customers. Additional roles at the Department included Operations Analyst II, Revenue Specialist 3, and Revenue Specialist I, focusing on project management, knowledge base development, and database management. Earlier in career, Javon supervised a phone center at Florida State University, contributing to three consecutive $1 million fundraising campaigns. Educationally, Javon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, obtained between 2002 and 2007.
