Wayne Young

Wayne Young currently serves as the Chair of the Florida District Board of Trustees at Florida State College at Jacksonville since August 2023 and is a member of the Board of Directors for the WateReuse Association since January 2020. Previous experience includes various senior leadership roles at JEA from 2006 to June 2025, including Vice President of Environmental Services and consultant focusing on strategy and business excellence. Wayne Young also held several positions in the US Navy from 1999 to 2006, including Chief of Staff for Strike Force Training and Commanding Officer of the USS HUE CITY (CG-66). Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Management and Technology from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Science in Telecommunications Systems from the U.S. Naval War College, a Master of Arts in Strategic Planning, Policy and Decision Making from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Bachelor of Science in Divinity/Ministry from Southeastern University.
