Ennedy Rivera

Ennedy Rivera currently serves as Commissioner of the State of Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion since February 2022 and has been an Ethics Commissioner for Waukegan Public Schools since August 2010. Prior roles include Chief Legal Counsel at the Office of the City Clerk in Chicago, Deputy General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, and General Counsel to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, where Rivera provided legal advice on governance, compliance, and contract negotiations. Rivera was also a Special Prosecutor at the Lake County State's Attorney's Office, and a Commissioner for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, focusing on civil rights violations in Illinois. Additional experience includes serving as a Fire and Police Civil Service Commissioner in Waukegan and working as a Senior Associate Attorney with Wysocki & Smith. Education includes a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on Pre-Medicine, Spanish, and Philosophy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
