Brian Nelson

Brian Nelson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data privacy, analysis, and management within various sectors of Utah's government. Currently serving as a Certified Information Privacy Manager for the State of Utah since March 2022, Brian focuses on safeguarding internal operations and external data policies while leading privacy and security initiatives. With a background as a Business Analyst Supervisor at the Utah Department of Human Services, responsibilities include procurement and asset management, alongside developing department-wide policies for state-owned cell phones. Previous roles include Actuarial Specialist at the Utah Department of Health, Management Analyst at the Utah Administrative Office of the Courts, and MMIS Supervisor at Intermountain Healthcare. Brian holds an MBA from Weber State University and a BA in French Language and Literature from Brigham Young University, further complemented by certification from the International Association of Certified Information Professionals.
