Eric Petersen JD, MPA, currently serves as an Assistant Attorney General for the Utah System of Higher Education since July 2020 and has held a similar role with the State of Utah since September 1999. With extensive experience in Higher Education Law, Employment Law, Administrative Law, and Criminal Prosecution, Eric has provided legal services to various educational institutions, including serving as Legal Counsel for the Utah College of Applied Technology from 2017 to 2020. Eric also has a distinguished military background as a Soldier and Judge Advocate with the Utah National Guard, as well as roles in the US Army as Command Judge Advocate. Previous positions include Special Assistant United States Attorney and Deputy County Attorney for both Washington and Kane Counties. Eric's educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah, among other advanced military educational programs.
