Mia Maldonado is an experienced journalist currently serving as a reporter for Idaho Capital Sun since March 2023. Additionally, Mia holds the position of board member and secretary for the Voces Internship of Idaho, an initiative focused on enhancing equity in journalism by placing young Latino individuals in newsrooms across the state. Prior experience includes roles as a breaking news reporter for Idaho Statesman and a journalism intern at Idaho Capital Sun. Mia's early career featured work as a student ethnographic research collaborator at Caldwell Housing Authority and various positions at The College of Idaho, including resident assistant and admissions ambassador. Mia holds a degree in International Political Economy and Spanish from The College of Idaho, complemented by minors in Communications and Health Promotion, and is a graduate of Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy.
