Christian Czezatke

Principal Software Engineer at Station A

Christian Czezatke is a Principal Software Engineer at Station A. Christian has over fifteen years of experience in the software industry, with a focus on data storage and protection.

Christian's career began at VMware, Inc. in December 2003. Christian quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Staff Engineer by 2011. While at VMware, Christian was tasked with developing a vendor-agnostic framework for wiring existing backup applications into VMware's infrastructure. This framework turned into a set of APIs around which an entire ecosystem quickly developed. Christian also made various presentations on this topic at VMworld over the years.

In 2012, Christian left VMware to join Maxta as a Founding Engineer ("Employee #2"). At Maxta, Christian designed and implemented large parts of a data storage solution for virtual machines. The architecture was distributed in nature, with no central point of control and no single point of failure. The goal was to build a unified storage pool out of off the shelf servers. The system was self-healing and would automatically compensate for storage device or entire server failures.

In January 2019, Christian left Maxta to join Station A as a Principal Software Engineer.

Christian Czezatke has a M.Sc. in Computer Science from TU Wien/Vienna University of Technology. Christian also has certification from Coursera in Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning and Fundamentals of Music Theory.

Christian Czezatke works with Madhulika Chambers - Software Engineer, Audrey Ku - Software Engineer. Their manager is Jeremy Lucas, Co-Founder & Head of Engineering.
