Rebecca Simpson

Rebecca Simpson is an accomplished professional currently serving as a Strategic Advisor to the DCE Strategy, People, and Resources at Stats NZ since May 2022 and previously held the position of Principal Advisor Strategy Delivery. With substantial experience in government and advisory roles, Rebecca was a Principal Adviser at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment from August 2020 to May 2022 and led event logistics and planning as Project Lead for APEC 2021 New Zealand. Prior roles include Lead Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Contractor for the Government, Senior Advisor at Sport New Zealand, Planning and Reporting Advisor at Creative New Zealand, and Operational Advisor at the Ministry of Science Research and Technology. Rebecca holds a Master of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Science with majors in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Genetics from Victoria University of Wellington.
