Juan Luis Jimenez

Juan Luis Jimenez has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Juan Luis started their career in 2005 as an Application Developer at molaTV s.l., where they developed a managing system for mobile short messages. Juan Luis then worked as a Junior Software Developer at Solvay, where they developed a Windows application for managing VoIP calls.

In 2007, Juan joined Neoris as a Software Developer before moving to Softonic as a Backend Developer. At Softonic, they worked on high volume web development projects and was later promoted to Lead Backend Developer. Juan Luis played a key role in the development of Softonic's API.

In 2015, Juan became the Head of Software Engineering at Suntransfers.com, where they were responsible for leading the technical department and driving technical changes to reduce time to market. Juan Luis played a crucial role in growing and hiring the development department and coached and mentored its members.

Juan then worked as a Software Architect at Privalia before co-founding transfersystems, where they served as the CTO. Juan Luis later joined XING as a Senior Software Engineer.

Since 2016, Juan has also served as a Lecturer in Master - High Performance Web Programming at La Salle Campus Barcelona.

Currently, Juan is working at Stayforlong, where they initially served as the Principal Software Engineer before being promoted to the role of Head of Software Engineering in 2019.

Juan Luis Jimenez obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Multimedia Engineering from La Salle BCN, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including the Deep Learning Specialization from DeepLearning.AI in June 2021 and the Machine Learning certification from Stanford Online in February 2021. Juan Luis also holds certifications in Functional Programming Principles in Scala, Data Structures, Algorithmic Toolbox, Negociación Básica, Working with Git, Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop CDH4, and Sun Certified MySQL 5.0 Developer, obtained in various years ranging from 2009 to 2016.
