Aubrey Woodroof

Aubrey, a prolific inventor, and entrepreneur, has developed and patented a variety of medical devices, including tissue heart valves, small diameter arterial prosthesis, and abdominal hernia repair devices. He invented Biobrane®, which was the first bilaminate, biosynthetic, temporary wound dressing. Aubrey has been awarded multiple patents for Biobrane, AWOD, AWOD Plus, and PermeaDerm, as well as published numerous papers and chapters in peer-reviewed medical journals. His three medical device companies: Woodroof Laboratories, Aubrey Inc., and PermeaDerm Inc., have all achieved breakthrough medical technology achievements. He considers his most significant scientific contribution to be PermeaDerm with “Optimal Adherence.” Aubrey received his Ph.D. from UCLA in Biochemistry and an MBA from West Coast University.
