James Roe has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. James began their career as a Senior Chemist at the Cleveland Division of Air Pollution Control, where they conducted urban air quality monitoring and implemented a carbon-monoxide monitoring program. James then worked as an Analyst at Ohio Medical Products and as a Chemist at Lauck's Testing Labs. After that, they joined the University of Washington as a Research Scientist. Following their time at the university, they worked at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments as a Field Service Engineer, where they installed and serviced a wide range of analytical laboratory instruments. James then worked as an Independent Consultant for Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis before becoming the Scientific Director at Steep Hill. Most recently, they have taken on the role of Lab Manager at Atlas Technology Mfg Co, LLC.

James Roe attended Case Western Reserve University from 1969 to 1974. James obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with a major in Chemistry during this time. James then pursued further education at the University of Washington from 1980 to 1983. However, no specific degree was mentioned for this period. James studied a diverse range of subjects at the University of Washington, including Microbiology, Genetics, Anatomy & Physiology, and Computer Science.
