Achinta Haldar

Achinta Haldar has a diverse work experience in the field of process engineering and management. Achinta has recently joined STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada as a Process Engineering Specialist in April 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Sr. Process Engineer Specialist at Algoma Steel Inc. from March 2018 to April 2022. In this role, they provided technical advice and worked on various optimization and cost-saving projects, resulting in substantial fuel cost savings. Before that, they worked as a Process/Mechanical Consultant at SNC Lavalin from March 2016 to March 2018. Achinta also worked at SNC-Lavalin Inc - Resources, Environment and Water division as a Sr. Process Engineer/Specialist/Project Coordinator from October 2008 to December 2015, where they worked on projects related to iron ore, nickel, copper, potash, and gold. Additionally, they worked as a Plant Manager - Furnaces at CHT Inc. from 2003 to 2005 and as a Manager - Ironmaking at Steel Authority of India Limited from 1991 to 2002.

Achinta Haldar has a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ryerson University. Achinta also has a Diploma in Quality Assurance from Humber College. Furthermore, they hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Operations Management and Supervision from Indira Gandhi National Open University. Prior to this, Achinta Haldar obtained a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. Additionally, they have acquired the certification of Professional Engineer from the Professional Engineers Ontario in July 2009 and Professional Engineer (PE) from APEGS in October 2015.
