Amiy Srivastava

Amiy Srivastava has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. They began their career as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. in 2009 and progressed through various roles such as Jr. Manager, Assistant Manager in the Wire Rod Mill, and Deputy Manager in the Best Practices Technology Group. During their time at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd., they presented three conference papers and worked on innovative projects, such as increasing the strength of lightweight aggregates made from coal gasification plant ash.

In 2018, Amiy Srivastava joined STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada as a Process Engineering Specialist, where they are currently employed. Prior to this, they worked as a Manager in the Product Development & Application Engineering Group at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.

Amiy Srivastava also has academic experience, having worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto in 2022. Before that, they pursued a PhD at the same institution, focusing on topics such as bubble and velocity distribution analysis in a continuous casting mold, steel cleanliness improvements using CFD and water modeling, and failure analysis of HP40Nb Grade tubes.

Throughout their career, Amiy Srivastava has demonstrated a strong interest in research and development, process optimization, material analysis, and teaching.

Amiy Srivastava has a strong educational background in materials engineering. Amiy earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Toronto. Prior to that, they completed their M.Tech degree in Steel Technology at the MSME Department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from 2013 to 2015. Amiy Srivastava also holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Kanpur, which they completed from 2005 to 2009. Before pursuing higher education, Amiy Srivastava attended St. Francis Xavier's School in Kanpur for their high school education.
