Darren Kanagy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Darren started their career as a stockman at Mead Westvaco, where they were responsible for replenishing bins and loading trailers. After that, they worked as a process engineer at Solar Innovations, Inc., where they focused on continuous improvement of shop floor flow and contributed to testing and R&D of new products. Following that, they served as a manufacturing engineer at PMF Industries Inc., where they ensured operational compliance of vacuum heat treat equipment and was instrumental in installing and validating new heat treat furnace. Darren then joined Keystone Forging Company as a plant industrial engineer, overseeing the production of quality closed-die forgings for various industries. At L3 Technologies, they worked as a methods engineer, and later at L3Harris Technologies, they became a product line supervisor. Currently, Darren holds the position of a senior associate manufacturing engineer at Stellant Systems, Inc. with a previous role as a supervisor in operations management.
Darren Kanagy has a strong educational background in manufacturing and metalworking occupations. Darren attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, they attended the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center and obtained a diploma in Metalworking Occupations.
In addition to their formal education, Darren has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and expertise. In September 2016, they became Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (SSGBC) through the Management and Strategy Institute. Darren also completed the Management Development Institute offered by the Forging Industry Association in November 2015.
Furthermore, Darren has acquired certifications related to electronic assembly and repair. In November 2022, they obtained the IPC-7721& IPC-7711 Rework, Repair, & Modification of Printed Boards & Electronic Assemblies certification from the IPC. Additionally, in October 2022, they obtained the IPC J-STD-001 Certification and in August 2022, they obtained the IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies Certification, both also from the IPC. These certifications demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in the field of electronics assembly and repair.
