Sam Butler is currently a C++ Developer for Scientific Computing at Stellar Science Ltd Co, specializing in scientific computing, modeling, and visualization tools since May 2022. Prior to this role, Sam served as an Assistant Professor of Physics at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology from September 2015 to May 2022, teaching various graduate courses and advising multiple master's and PhD students. Sam's research interests include optical scatter, laser dynamics, quantum mechanics, and remote sensing, and has held the position of Curriculum Chair for two master's programs since 2019. Sam's experience also includes significant military service in the United States Air Force, where roles ranged from Deputy Branch Chief to Aircraft Maintenance Technician, contributing to various defense initiatives and leading research and development efforts. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MS in Applied Physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a BS in Applied Physics with a Computer Science emphasis from Brigham Young University.
