David Kent is currently serving as the Deputy Head of Department in Biology (Research) and Group Leader at the University of York since September 2019. Kent maintains a blog for the Canadian Stem Cell Network while previously holding the position of Group Leader at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute from September 2009 to September 2019, focusing on blood stem cell regulation and its implications in cancer. Earlier experience includes research on adult blood stem cells at the same institution and a doctoral project on stem cell biology under Professor Connie Eaves at the BC Cancer Agency. Education includes a PhD in Genetics from The University of British Columbia and a BSc in Genetics with English from Western University.
