Carl Mascarenhas

Carl Mascarenhas has a diverse work experience spanning over twenty years. Carl is currently the Director of Partnerships at Stenn Technologies since March 2023. Prior to that, they founded and served as the President of Kaiso Consulting Inc starting from August 2022.

From 2014 to 2022, Carl was the CEO and Co-founder of JoeZoo, an education technology company that developed Assessment-as-a-Service (AaaS) software for online learning platforms. During their tenure, JoeZoo gained significant traction, with over 16,615 K-12 schools and 724 Higher Ed schools using their products.

Before JoeZoo, they worked as the Chief Researcher for the Technology in Education Project from December 2013 to June 2014. In this role, they conducted a comprehensive study on K-12 education to evaluate written coursework and enhance student learning skills.

From 2006 to 2013, Carl held the position of President and COO at eRenovate Inc, an innovative technology company focused on the home improvement industry. Carl also served as the Director of Marketing at Leonardo Worldwide Corporation from March 2006 to November 2006.

During their early career, Carl worked as the Director of Marketing and Technology for Canlan Sports from March 2002 to March 2006. Canlan Sports is a prominent private sector owner of recreational sports facilities in North America and operates the largest adult ice hockey league, ASHL.

Carl Mascarenhas has a diverse education history. Carl obtained a Startup School degree from Y Combinator in 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in International Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of London, spanning from 2004 to 2006. In 2000, they earned a Certificate in Internet Marketing & eBusiness from The University of British Columbia. Additionally, Carl completed a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) program at the Canadian Securities Institute from 1992 to 1994. Carl holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology and Psychology, which they obtained from The University of British Columbia in the period of 1987 to 1991. Carl also graduated with a High School Diploma from Vancouver College in 1987.

Apart from their formal education, Carl Mascarenhas has acquired several certifications. In 2022, they became a Stenn Certified Representative from Stenn Technologies. In 2021, they achieved the GSV Cup Elite 200 certification from ASU+GSV Summit. In 2020, they obtained the GSV Virtual Summit Series certification from GSV Ventures. Additionally, Carl attended the 2019 Reimagine Education Conference organized by the Reimagine Education Awards & Conference.
