Jordan Barkley

Jordan Barkley currently serves as Provost and Executive Vice President at Stephen F. Austin State University since July 2025. Previously, Jordan held the position of Vice Provost for Academic Resources and Planning at the University of Northern Colorado from July 2022 to July 2025. Jordan's career also includes roles as Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Academic Administration, as well as Dean of the College of Education at Tarleton State University from July 2014 to June 2022. At Jacksonville State University, Jordan served as Associate Professor and Department Head for Secondary Education, and as Associate Dean for the College of Education & Professional Studies, focusing on assessment efforts for NCATE/CAEP accreditation. Jordan began teaching as a 7th Grade English and History Teacher at Opelika Middle School from August 2000 to June 2005. Jordan earned a Ph.D. in Reading Education, an MS in Reading Education, and a Bachelor's degree in English and History Education, all from Auburn University.
