Edward Whittaker

Edward Whittaker currently serves as the Features Editor at Optica since February 2024 and has held the position of Professor of Physics at Stevens Institute of Technology since August 1984. Previous experience includes a role as Science and Technology Advisor at the United States Department of State from 2003 to 2004 and as a Visiting Scientist at IBM San Jose Research between 1982 and 1984. Edward Whittaker earned a M Eng in Physics from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2000, a PhD in Physics from Columbia University from 1976 to 1982, a BS in Physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 1972 to 1976, and a HS Diploma from La Porte High School in 1972.
