Karen Catto

Karen joined Stewart Milne Group in 1996 and grew her expertise in the Marketing and Communications department before establishing the Human Resources function. In her role as HR Director, Karen is responsible for working with Senior Leaders to ensure the HR strategy underpins business needs. She delivers this through supporting the business with coaching, development and effective succession management.

Karen is passionate about encouraging people to join the construction sector and led and developed a skills academy to address skills shortages and to help young people into the industry. Her dedication to her role as an ambassador for the construction sector was recognised by peers who awarded her 'Top Cherry' at the cHeRries awards.

The cHeRries awards celebrate HR talent across the North East of Scotland, and the top Cherry award is for outstanding contribution to the HR Industry. While Karen enjoyed the banter from her colleagues on the name of the award she was proud to receive it.
