Fons Leijten

Fons specialises in corporate litigation and advice, creating close partnerships with his clients in every case.

He is often engaged in matters before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and as counsel in international commercial arbitration and litigation. As a litigator his focus areas include disputes relating to corporate governance, public tender offers, mergers and acquisitions and directors’ liability.

His expertise also extends to corporate advisory work, corporate governance advice, mergers, demergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.

Fons has a master’s in law from Amsterdam University and an LL.M from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

He is a member of the corporate law advisory committee of the Dutch Bar Association and the Royal Association of Dutch Civil Law Notaries. Fons is also editor for the Dutch Journal for Company Law (JOR) and the Legal Commentary on Dutch Company Legislation.
