Karen Laarveld

Karen Laarveld is a seasoned educational policy advisor and leader with extensive experience in the Dutch education sector. Currently, Karen serves as a Beleidsadviseur onderwijskwaliteit & onderwijsontwikkeling at Stichting Surplus since August 2022. Prior to this role, Karen was the Regisseur Technasiumnetwerken at Stichting Technasium, where the focus was on enhancing beta education in the Netherlands. Karen also has a history of leadership as the Voorzitter of VELT Utrecht e.o, promoting ecological living, and as a Beleidsadviseur onderwijs at AOC Raad, representing agricultural educational centers. Additionally, Karen worked as a Beleidsmedewerker at VO raad and as a docent Nederlands at Montessori Lyceum Herman Jordan. Karen's educational background includes a Master's degree in coaching and studies at Universiteit Utrecht and the Mind Only Instituut voor Boeddhistische Psychologie.
