Malcolm Zapata

Malcolm Zapata currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer and founding partner of Stiegler EdTech while also holding the position of President at YTAC - Youth Technology Apprenticeship Cohorts. With a strong background in technology and research, Malcolm has been a Network Administrator at Zapata Incorporated since August 2015 and previously completed a PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics at UNC Charlotte, focusing on hospital-acquired infections and antibiotic resistance gene phylogenies. Prior experience includes roles such as MRI CAD Programmer at Presbyterian Hospital, where software algorithms were developed for analyzing MRI images, and Embedded Systems Programmer at Insight Technologies, where sensor technologies were created for autonomous vehicles. Malcolm holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Pattern Recognition and Robotics, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
