The Flemingsberg Science Foundation works to make Flemingsberg one of Sweden’s most important centers for education, research and creativity by 2050. We promote and take the lead in the development of knowledge-intensive activities in Flemingsberg. We do this together with academia, business and society. The Foundation is initiated by KTH, KI, SöH, SLL and the local communities of Huddinge and Botkyrka. We are working to make Flemingsberg a competitive innovation hub—the obvious choice for establishment in southern Stockholm—and a testbed for urban societal challenges. To achieve our goals, we are engaged in a range of initiatives and projects, including the ERDF-funded project "Cluster Engine Life Science Flemingsberg". The project has been granted funding from the European Regional Development Fund and aims to boost the growth and establishment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the life science sector in the Stockholm region. The total project budget is €10.8 million for the years 2025–2027.
