Derrick Young

Derrick Young has over a decade of experience in strategic sourcing and purchasing management, currently serving as the Manager of Indirect and MRO Purchasing at Stihl USA since November 2012. In this role, Derrick leads the MRO/Indirect Material purchasing team to support factory operations in Virginia Beach, overseeing purchasing for production equipment, tooling, spare parts, and other indirect materials. Prior to this position, Derrick held the role of Corporate Commodity Manager at Siemens Healthcare from May 2007 to November 2012, where responsibilities included leading cross-functional sourcing teams and negotiating contracts. Derrick's earlier experience includes operations roles at Shell and Fortis Escrow Services, focusing on contract management and customer service. Derrick holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an International Baccalaureate from International School Hilversum Alberdingk Thijm.
