Florent F.

Consumable Development Engineer & Project Lead at Stilla Technologies

Florent F. has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Florent is currently working at Stilla Technologies as a Consumable Development Engineer & Project Lead, a position they started in March 2022. Before that, they worked at Glowee as a Senior Design Engineer from July 2021 to March 2022. Prior to that, they were the Head of Microfluidic Cartridge Development at E-Sana for a brief period from January 2021 to February 2021.

Florent also worked at Microfactory SAS as a Microfluidic R&D Engineer for over three years, from September 2017 to January 2021. Florent gained significant expertise during this role, focusing on the development and fabrication of nanostructured, silicon-glass microfluidic devices for energy harvesting improvement. Florent personally designed the devices using SolidWorks, modeled them in COMSOL, and performed all microfabrication steps in the clean room using standard semiconductor engineering techniques.

Before joining Microfactory SAS, Florent was a PhD student at the Institut d'Electronique, de Microélectronique et de Nanotechnologies (IEMN) from October 2013 to May 2017. Florent'sresearch involved developing two distinct nanostructured, silicon-glass microfluidic devices to enhance energy harvesting through streaming current. Florent designed the devices, carried out microfabrication steps, and conducted characterization using a test bench they assembled.

Prior to their industry and research roles, Florent worked as a Consultant at BioPharm Systems, Inc. from September 2010 to September 2011. Florent also had a brief internship experience at Oracle in July 2009.

Overall, Florent F. has extensive experience in microfluidic engineering, device development, and project leadership across various industries.

Florent F. has a diverse education history. From 2008 to 2012, they attended IMT Atlantique, where they obtained a Master's degree in Engineering, specializing in Physics, Electronics, and Telecommunication. In 2011 and 2012, they pursued further studies at UCL, earning a Master 2 (M2) in Nanotechnologies.

Florent's academic career then led him to the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology, where they embarked on a doctoral journey. From 2013 to 2017, they pursued a Ph.D. in Micro-nanosystèmes et capteurs (Micro-nanoscopic systems and sensors).

In addition to their formal education, Florent has also sought additional certifications. Florent obtained various certifications from edX, including MITx 7.05x: Biochemistry: Biomolecules, Methods, and Mechanisms in April 2019, KyotoUx: 001x The Chemistry of Life in December 2018, MITx 7.28.3x: Molecular Biology – RNA Processing and Translation in August 2018, MITx 7.28.2x: Molecular Biology – Transcription and Transposition in June 2018, and HarvardX MCB63X: Principles of Biochemistry in April 2018.
