Stillwater Sciences seeks a highly motivated, mid to senior-level biometrician to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team working on fish migration, aquatic ecology, habitat restoration, and water resources projects. This exciting role integrates data analysis, statistics, and experimental design with real-world applications to ecology and biology.
Office location: Hybrid from one of our CA offices: Berkeley, Arcata, Davis, Morro Bay, or Los Angeles. The Biometrician will be responsible for:
Performing the statistical analysis and visualization of large datasets
Data analysis, model development, and data visualization in R
Contributing to report development
Collaborating and communicating effectively with diverse, interdisciplinary teams and external clients
Qualified applicants should possess:
PhD or MS in Fisheries Biology, Aquatic Ecology, Statistics, Mathematics, and/or Computer Science or related field
Proficiency with data analysis using R
Expertise in statistical analysis (frequentist and Bayesian), data visualization, and study design
Expertise in fisheries and ecological models including stock-recruitment models, mark-recapture analysis, survival analysis, population dynamics models, life cycle analysis, agent/individual based models, structural equation modeling, etc.
Experience analyzing and visualizing complex, large data sets
Environmental consulting and project management experience preferred
Ability to develop and present to clients at meetings, workshops, and conferences
Time management skills and self-motivated
