Johanna Mendelson Forman is a distinguished expert in culinary diplomacy, food security, and stability operations, currently serving as a Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at American University School of International Service since August 2024, while also contributing as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Montgomery County Food Council and as a Distinguished Fellow at The Stimson Center, directing the Food Security Program. With a rich academic background, including roles as an Adjunct Professor at both American University and the Stimson Center, and previously at Johns Hopkins University SAIS, Johanna has established a consulting firm, Johanna Mendelson Forman, Inc., since 2006. Additionally, Johanna holds senior associate positions at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, focusing on the Americas Program and political economy, and has demonstrated leadership as Chair of the WHINSEC Board of Visitors. Educational qualifications include a JD from American University Washington College of Law, a PhD in Latin American History from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia SIPA.
