Yong-Rak Kwon has extensive work experience in engineering roles. Yong-Rak started their career at Samsung Electronics in 1990, where they served as a Design Engineer and later as a Project Manager & Senior Engineer. During their time at Samsung Electronics, they were involved in various projects related to Stirling cooler-based household refrigerator development, Stirling cooler design, and heatpipe/thermosyphon development. Yong-Rak also received training in Stirling cycle technology from renowned experts in the field. In the year 2000, Yong-Rak Kwon worked as a Principal Engineer at Global Cooling, Inc. for eight years before joining Stirling Ultracold, Division of Global Cooling, Inc. in 2009 as the VP of Engineering. Additionally, they had a brief stint as an Engineering Consultant at Freelance Engineering Service from February 2000 to November 2000.
Yong-Rak Kwon pursued their higher education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Yong-Rak completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree at Yonsei University from 1984 to 1988. Afterward, they enrolled in the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Combustion, from 1988 to 1990.
