Markus W. has a strong background in marketing and product management, with experience in various industries. Markus currently holds the position of Head of Commercial Shadings at STOBAG AG since 2019, where they previously served as the Segment Manager for Shadings & Components. Prior to this, Markus worked as a Senior Product Manager at the same company.

In 2018, Markus co-founded Certific (Safety Certification GmbH) and worked as a Co-Founder until 2019. Before that, they were employed as the Regional Marketing Manager for Europe at MSA - The Safety Company from 2015 to 2018. During their time at MSA, they also served as the Product Manager for Breathing Protection and Communication Systems, where they developed a portfolio with patented product solutions and supported change measures as the team lead of Change Management Agents.

Markus's previous experience includes working as a Senior Marketing Manager at aleo solar AG (BOSCH Solar Energy AG) in 2011, where they led the marketing team during a complex phase of company merger and brand repositioning. Markus also worked as the Head of Marketing & Product Management at Brilliant AG from 2008 to 2010, and as a Product Manager for Home Lighting & Lamps from 2005 to 2008.

In the early stages of their career, Markus gained experience at Daimler AG, where they worked as a Global Training Diploma recipient, Mercedes Benz China Product Management Trainee & Assistant, and Produktmanagement C Class Trainee & Assistant.

Markus started their career in 1996 with financial advisory roles at Deutsche Bank, Zurich Gruppe, and Aruna Versicherung.

Throughout their career, Markus has demonstrated strong leadership skills, ability to optimize marketing strategies, and expertise in brand positioning and international trade partnerships.

In 2000-2005, Markus attended The Berlin School of Economics and Law, where they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) with a focus on Economics, specifically in Marketing.

In 2019, Markus studied Agile - Applied Scrum for Project Management at the University of Maryland.

In 2018, Markus attended INSEAD to study Strategy in the Age of Digital Disruption.

Also in 2018, Markus pursued Intrapreneurship at the Hasso Plattner Institute.

Most recently, in 2022, Markus enrolled in a course on Creating and Sustaining an Innovation Culture at The University of Queensland.

In addition to their formal education, Markus has obtained several certifications over the years. In 2008, they completed training on InDesign CS3 und Druckvorstufen (prepress) at Müller Ditzen AG. Markus also received training in Verkaufsstrategien und Selbstentwicklung (Sales Strategies and Self-development) from Sonnenholzer Beratung GmbH & Co. KG in the same year. In 2013, Markus acquired certifications in Dr. Edward de Bono's 6 Thinking Hats & Lateral Thinking from Edward de Bono Ltd, and in Besprechungen effektiv und zielführend leiten (Effectively Leading Meetings) from MODERATIO Seifert & Partner Unternehmensberater. Markus also attended a Marketing Management program organized by ZWB Forum Für Führungskräfte GmbH in 2008. Additionally, in 2014, Markus became a certified Customer Touchpoint Manager under Anne M. Schüler. More recently, in 2023, they obtained a certification in Behavioral Design from Irrational Labs.
