Rafaela Flach is a Research Fellow at the Stockholm Environment Institute since January 2022. Prior to this role, Rafaela served as a Research Consultant for Tufts University and the ClimateWorks Foundation, focusing on the economic impacts of deforestation-induced climate change in Brazil from October 2019 to January 2021. Rafaela's earlier experiences include serving as a Visiting Researcher at Bonn University, a Research Assistant at Linköping University, and an intern at the Stockholm Environment Institute. Rafaela has also worked as a Summer Trainee at Stora Enso and as a Water Resources Engineer at Sanepar, where the focus was on water supply and wastewater treatment systems. Rafaela holds a PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences from the University of Hamburg, a Master of Science in Sustainability Studies from Linköping University, and a degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidade Federal do Paraná.
