Vera Valakh

Vera Valakh has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research. Vera is currently employed as a Principal Scientist at Stoke Therapeutics since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Cognesy Therapeutics from August 2022 to April 2023. Vera also served as a Research Scientist I at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard from July 2020 to July 2022. Before joining the Broad Institute, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brandeis University from June 2014 to July 2020. Vera's academic journey began at Washington University in St. Louis, where they pursued their Ph.D. and completed their studies from September 2007 to March 2014.

Vera Valakh earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics and Biochemistry/Biophysics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Vera then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating in 2014.
