Kristof Richmond has a diverse background in technology and robotics. Kristof currently holds the position of Chief Technology Officer at Sunfish Inc since May 2022. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Robotics at the same company since July 2019.

Their responsibilities included operating, maintaining, and repairing scientific instruments at an atmospheric research station in Greenland. Kristof also upgraded the steering control system for a 32-m scientific radar antenna.

Kristof Richmond began their education journey in 1993 at Rice University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in German. Kristof completed their undergraduate studies in 1997. Kristof then continued their education at Stanford University, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering from 2000 to 2001. Subsequently, they went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, which they completed from 2001 to 2009. Through their educational path, Kristof Richmond focused on Mechanical Engineering, with a particular interest in German language and culture during their time at Rice University.
