Sonia Garrido

Sonia Garrido, MBA, has extensive experience in marketing and communications, currently serving as the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for Student Affairs at Stony Brook University since September 2015. In this role, Sonia is responsible for creating and implementing communications plans to promote university programs and initiatives, while also developing social media strategies. Previous roles include Marketing Associate/Public Relations Manager at Whitsons Culinary Group, where collaboration on integrated marketing plans was key, and Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Sulzer, overseeing safety projects. Sonia holds multiple educational qualifications, including an MBA in Marketing from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from The University of Kansas. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at the University at Buffalo, Sonia continues to advance expertise in education and teaching.
