Sami Honkanen

Sami Honkanen has extensive experience in the forestry and wood supply sector, currently serving as the Director of Purchasing for Stora Enso Wood Supply Finland since January 2011, overseeing wood procurement from private forests and trade with other companies. Previous roles include Mill Manager at Kitee sawmill and Resource Manager for Wood Supply Finland, as well as positions such as Director of Wood Supply at Guangxi Stora Enso Forestry Co., Ltd and Regional Manager for Stora Enso Oyj, where responsibilities included wood procurement and management. Honkanen's career also features roles focused on logistics, procurement, and community-based land development, beginning as an Assistant Field Manager at Enso Forest Development Oy Ltd. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Eastern Finland.
