Murray Watt has worked in the software engineering industry since 1999. Murray started their career at Microsoft Corporation as a Sr. Software Engineer, and then moved to Bocada as a Senior Software Engineer in 2007. In 2008, they joined nGenera Corporation as a Principal Software Engineer and also worked as a Consultant at Microsoft Corporation. In 2009, they moved to Maxsam Partners as a Senior Software Developer and in 2010, they joined Hitachi Data Systems as a Principal Software Engineer and Software Architect. In 2013, they were promoted to Lead Developer, Scrum Master, Principal Software Developer, and Design Lead at Hitachi Data Systems. In 2017, they joined DigitalGlobe as a Principal Software Engineer and TDD Evangelist. In 2019, they moved to Nex Gen Technologies Inc as a Developer Lead of Data Migration and a Software Developer III (Full Stack Java). Currently, they are working as a Principal/Senior Software Engineer at Storygize since 2022.

Murray Watt obtained a BS in Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick between 1982 and 1986. Murray then went on to earn a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto between 1986 and 1988. Murray also holds a Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
